Chemical Peels
Is this treatment for me?
There’s a chemical peel for almost everyone. That is to say, everyone can benefit from a peel. I use a range of peels in clinic to address a multitude of skin concerns that will hydrate, deeply exfoliate and stimulate the skin cells. We’ll discuss your particular needs during your consultation and work on a bespoke treatment plan.
Ok, so how does it work?
Chemical peels dissolve the outermost layers of the skin by “chemical exfoliation”, stimulating new cell growth and collagen production.
There’s a peel for almost every skin complaint and they vary from superficial to deep. It is said that the effect of more individual superficial peels is the same as a medium peel but without the downtime, and that’s what I generally opt for. A must in your skincare routine. A fantastic stand-alone treatment and one which is also included for “skin prep” in my other advanced skin treatments.

Frequently asked questions
What can I expect during my treatment?
A chemical peel is a liquid that is painted onto your face with a small brush. You may experience a tingling or warm feeling while the peel gets to work. After a specified amount of time, the peel will be removed, and a neutralising solution will be applied to deactivate the peel.
How will my skin look and feel after my treatment?
A treatment with instant gratification, a chemical peel will have you leave your treatment with smoother, brighter skin. Peels have a cumulative effect, and you’ll notice the biggest improvement at around day 10 following treatment.
Is there any downtime?
Depending on the peel used, you may experience some redness for a few hours following treatment. Some patients experience some light peeling at home as the skin cells regenerate.
It is possible that your skin will “purge” following a peel. This is where underlying toxins come to the surface of the skin prior to the skin restructuring. This doesn’t happen to everyone.
How many treatments do I need?
A course of 3-6 treatments is recommended, spaced at 2 weeks apart. A regular peel, perhaps once a month, is generally good skincare practice.
Who is not suitable for a chemical peel?
Chemical peels are not suitable for those who:
Are pregnant or breastfeeding
Are undergoing cancer treatment
Suffer with kidney disease
Suffer with keloid scarring
Suffer with an autoimmune disorder
