LED Phototherapy
What is LED?
Embedded with technology originally researched by NASA, LED phototherapy works by decreasing inflammation and increasing micro-circulation. Sending oxygen and nutrients to where it’s needed. Bringing relief to a variety of conditions. Think of LED as fuel for your skin cells’ batteries, fill this up and your skin will thank you for it.
Why is LED good for my skin?
Our skin has the ability to absorb light energy and use it to regulate essential cell processes. Skin cells that are energised function better and repair and renew faster (by up to 200%, to be precise). Different light wavelengths penetrate the skin to different depths and therefore treat different skin concerns.
LED wavelengths
01/ Blue light
Treats conditions on the surface of the skin and destroys acne causing bacteria
02/ Red light
Penetrates to activate the fibroblasts (skin cells), helping them to regenerate faster, to produce more collagen and elastin and increase hydration levels
03/ Near Infrared
Penetrates deeper to reduce inflammation and irritation
LED is the perfect end to an advanced skin treatment; it calms the cells, reduces inflammation and speeds up healing.
“Hannah has treated me using micro-needling and LED light treatment and I have seen a huge change in skin elasticity, firmness, and appearance.”

Frequently asked questions
What can I expect during my treatment?
A memory foam pad will be moulded into shape and laid close to your skin. You’ll be given eye protection and then all you need to do is relax and enjoy 30mins of light treatment. The lights are bright which is not damaging to the eyes, but the eyewear provided does significantly reduce the glare.
How will my skin feel after LED phototherapy?
You will not feel anything significant following an LED treatment. However, you can expect to see a reduction in any redness or sensitivity that would otherwise have occurred following your session.
Areas treated
LED can be used anywhere on the body but usually the face, neck and décolletage as the final stage of your treatment.
How many treatments do I need?
LED is included in all my treatments, so you will usually have 3-6, depending on your recommended course.
Please note, I do not offer LED phototherapy as a stand-alone treatment.
Who is not suitable for LED phototherapy?
LED phototherapy is not suitable for those who:
Are pregnant or breastfeeding
Suffer from epilepsy
Are undergoing cancer treatment
Suffer with eye sensitivities
Are taking St John’s Wart
